Answers to Four Bra Problems That Often Are Not Discussed

We all are cursed with the concept of embarrassment. Okay, cursed is probably a strong word, but our fear of embarrassment often keeps us from asking questions we really need answers to. In this article, we take a look at some questions you might have about bras, but never get around to asking for whatever reason.

Q: Why is it that when I wear a bra, one cup feels fine but the other is tight/to loose?

The answer my dear is found in your breast size. Specifically, one is larger than the other. This is a very common situation, so don't feel put off by it. We are not robots. Our bodies are amazing, but they are not perfect.

So, what can we do about the problem? It depends on the size difference. First, buy a bra that fits the larger breast comfortably. If the other breast is slightly smaller, then consider tightening the strap for that cup, which will often resolve the problem. If you need a bit more of an adjustment, try buying little pads called "cookies". They are designed for just this problem and should create the extra volume you need to make the bra fit comfortably.

Q: This bra doesn't look right on me. What is wrong?

Asking this question in a store is never going to get you the correct answer. There salesperson will suggest it is the bra and give you others to try on. The truth is simply that not all bras look good on all women. Breasts come in many shapes and sizes. Some bras will make them look great while others will not. Accept your body type and focus on bras that look good on you. It is as simple as that.

Q: Why do I get rashes and hot red marks along the bottom of my breasts when wearing certain bras?

The answer is pretty simple - you are wearing the wrong size bra. The problems are being caused by the bra riding up on your breasts. Instead of the bottom sitting up against your rib cage, the bra is riding up over the bottom edge of your breast. It then squeezes and rubs against that skin causing redness and rashes. Go with a bottom band bra and bump up one cup size to see if the fit is better.

Q: My underwire bra is poking me in the area under my arm pit. What is the problem?

When it comes to bras, no subject gets more attention than the underwire poking problem. Poking is a sign of a fitting problem. If you are being poked on the inside of your armpit, the bra is probably too large. If you are being poked on the inside of your arm or on the edge of the breast, the bra is probably too small. Move up or down a size on the band. You may also need to adjust the cup size.

Finding a bra you like can be a real bear. In many ways, it is more of an art than anything else. You are unique and so is your body. Ignore what others are doing and focus on finding that perfect fit for your body.
